Does protein powder cause acne or zit?

I have been taking protein powder for about a month or so 50gr(2 scoops) a day 1 scoop in the morning(with milk), 1 scoop post work out(with milk), my question is I have had acne and zits ever since I started taking the powder and I'm not even taking that much .. I don't understand what or how It can cause this problem .. I don't know what I should do.. I actually used to eat protein bars about a year ago or so, back then I had the same problem..I wonder If I should stop taking it or what.. I don't wanna make any damages on my body or liver etc.. Please help :(

  1. I don't know but most people say it doesn't but when i use to drink protein when i was 14 i notice that i did get some pimples because of it. But what help me get rid of them was drinking a lot of water. Drinking a lot of water should also really help your liver. So you shouldn't stop taking it because of health problems.


  2. I use muscle milk, and it does not effect me in anyway.

  4. You are not doing any damage to your body or you lover by taking protein supplements.

    The acne could be a result of your metabolism getting higher and your body sweating more throughout the day. And I don't mean sweating profusely but just a small, maybe not even noticeable sweat, just a reaction to the higher metabolism.

    It could also be a result of the gym. Do you wear tank tops when you workout? Do you wipe the bench or machine before(and after) you use it? Do you shower right after the gym?


  5. Your protein shouldn't be giving you acne.
