  1. the maximuscle extreme protein supplement yr referring to is a whey protein... whey is made from milk and milk is no good for dogs. The ingredients in this formula are too rich and totally alien to a dogs metabolism, as is anything made from milk... this could ultimately cause kidney failure!. The highest biological value protein for humans may be whey, but for a dog it is meat. I feed my staff lamb hearts, liver, kidney, meat and bone with a little oatmeal and don't just walk him but give him a proper workout... some days he carries a 7kg dumbbell for about 2 miles up and down the mountains... some days il throw a ball up a hill and have him sprint up after it... running, jumping, pulling, carrying, you get the picture... As a result hes built like a brick **** house and really turns some heads. What I'm trying to say is if you want yr dogs to look like athletes, u gotta train em like athletes, feeding em is just half of it!

  2. You mean for "muscle mass" not "content". When regarding diet and nutrition, content is what is in the food and mass is what is in the creature that is eating it.- and yes- it can lead to kidney problems mainly.  Pits and AmStaffs are already very muscular w/o supplements. If you are bent on adding protein, you should try feeding chicken with their meals rather than giving supplements meant for humans.

  3. ask your vet about it
