Does puffer fish need filter?

I just bought 2 green spooted salt water puffer fish and wasnt aware that they needed a filter. Is it okay to go a day or two without one?

it sounds like you have a freshwater puffer.  I would go and get a filter as quick as possible.  There needs to be some water movement and oxygen put into the tank.

My first question would be, are they salt puffers or are they fresh water green spots?

Yes they need a filter and you really shouldn't wait.  While you are out, you may want to pick up a salt water test kit.  I am assuming you have a hydrometer already?
