Does pulled and cramped muscles affect your sprinting?

OK, so I pulled a muscle and my mom thinks it was a ligament since it happened a while ago, can that affect when you sprint?

And when the weather is freezing and your not warmed up completely, does that make you go slower at a sprint to?

Because I ran a test, when i didnt warm up I went super slow on a sprint, and when i did a 3 mile run, THEN sprinted, I was way faster and I was more loosened up.

So do those things affect? Just wondering.

  1. i think you probably just brused the inside of your leg (like under neith you skin) and its still brused still, or mayb ur mom is right you might of jst pulled a ligiment!!... i dont think it would effect your sprinting tho i dont think so... i mean i did that so many times during XCountry and i tryed to walk it off but it still hurt but by like a FEW DAYS it went away!!!

  2. Speed is all in your flexibility. The less your muscles have to work to move the faster you can go. So yes, you need to make sure you warm up properly to attain maximum results.

  3. yes, pulled and cramped muscles affect all aspects of running, it would make it uncomfortable to sustain any sort of run for very long.

if you don't warm up your muscles are stiff because you do not really use them to a high capacity during an average day, warming them up gets them loose and more efficient.
