  1. Foos stamps are now on EBT cards & they go by state. So No. You must have a case in PR to use the food stamps there otherwise they are only good in your own state. If you move then close your case & open a new one in PR.

  2. NO.

in order for u to get food stamps in PR u need to close the US case and open a new case in PR, just like if u were applying for the first time. ur food stamps card and benefits are not transferred from US to PR or from PR to US.

its with the same money funds, but its not related cases or offices. go to the nearest department of families in puerto rico and just ask in the information both what u need to do to get food stamps card. u get cash and food at the same time depending on the income and family size. for medical benefits its another separate office nothing related to food stamps.

we no longer use paper food stamps, its a debit card.

  3. Is quite a long time I do not see Food Stamps here.  Those funds are now received eletronically and families get a special ATM card to use the funds.

Edit:  Thank you see_ya  the term is "debit card" not ATM.

  4. Yes they do. Food stamps are, simply put, legal US currency. If you can spend a US dollar in Puerto Rico, you can use food stamps.

And since Puerto Rico is part of the US, all legal currency can be used there.

  5. good eating.
