My contact fell out and I put it in a glass of tap water for a few hours. Can I still wear them if I store the contacts in my case/solution overnight? Please help!

  1. They should be fine. People often store their contacts in cups of tap water if they don't have any contact solution on hand.

  2. they shall be fine

  3. Your contacts will be fine. Mine fell out in a pool and i put them in a cup for a day and they were fine. Just wash them out with contact solution.

  4. Absolutely NOT!  Tap water can have an organism known as acanthamoeba and it causes basically the worst eye infection you can get.  It is very difficult to treat and often leads to corneal transplants.  NEVER use tap water for your lenses or use your lenses after they have been contaminated by tap water.  Throw the lens away!
