    You need to provide this if you want a good reference from the place you are leaving and if you ever plan to work for them in the feature.

    Just basically giving them time to get someome to fill your position and leaving on a good note.

  7. yes...it's a 2 week notice - not 2 business day weeks notice.  The company is getting notice that in 14 days you will no longer be working there - or sooner if they decide to let you go before then.
