i personally feels he does, after coming from such an amazing victory over roger in RG this year, he does have the upperhand

there is djokovic too but i feel he wont be making it, for federer, doesnt seem like he is in best form, i dont think he will win this year.

for this question, i feel rafa does have a better chance to win this year!

  1. Let's put it this way, Rafa stands more of a chance at winning Wimbledon than Federer did at winning the French Open.  Rafa has been the runner-up the past 2 years, and last year he took Federer all the way to a 5th set, even holding the lead briefly early in the 5th, which was the first time since 2002 that Federer had ever trailed anyone in a match at Wimbledon.  The difference this year is that Federer has not been playing as good as he was last year, and also Rafa has improved enough to where his chances at finally winning Wimbledon look better than ever.  The only factor that could impede him is the possibilty of playing Djokovic, either in the semis or the final, depending how the draw works out.  But if Rafa were to face Federer again in the Wimbledon final, I think we'll see a new champion this year.

  2. He definitely does I actually think he is gonna win this year. He came so close to beating Roger last year and I know he will improve on grass even more. I think he is extremely confident after tearing through the whole field at Roland Garros including destroying Federer. I think Federer will not be all that confident going into Wimbledon after such a loss, I mean if you want evidence he didn't enter the same grass  tournament as Rafa because he wants to rebuild his confidence before facing him. Rafa all the way!

  3. rafa has always sucked at grass. his performance on clay and hard doesnt really help.

  4. Apart from the top 3 men's players, there really aren't any grass court and clay court specialists anymore. The top 3 are the best 3 on any surface, and there is the rest. So once Nadal gets past the first couple of rounds, he is a sure bet for the semifinals. And if he makes it to the final to play Federer, he has a really good chance. He has such a mental advantage over Federer right now. I don't think Federer can beat him.

  5. i have this feeling that we shouldn't predict Rafa to win Wimbledon based on his performance in RG. the amazing run of RG was phenomenal but I feel  that there was something special about RG this year..Rafa's performance was like a dream!!his confidence raised with each match which helped him crush more players as he moved forward.. I'm not saying he didn't improve .. but we all saw him in hamburg he did have close matches it wasn't like he was crushing everybody and don't tell me he has improved his game in the break between hamburg and RG..

has anybody seen him play in queens? I haven't it's not shown on TV.. I'm watching Hale though and federer looks way much better than he was in RG.. not back to his old self but better ... those who have been watching Rafa on grass in queens please tell us is he eating up everybody already? this is what we should count on...

please don't get me wrong I'm not belittling nadal I'm a big fan of his and I would like to believe that suddenly he became this unbeatable giant.. but I just don't see it this way... I expect good competition, maybe he'll win.. he has the chance like everybody  but it won't be like RG..  if he did demolish everybody like he did in RG maybe then I'll believe!!!!

  6. defenitely not i acept hes best in clay coat but not in grass ......roger is the best there....u mrk my words

  7. He most definitely has a great chance of winning this year. Especially after reaching The FInals there twice before. How many other players have done that/could say that? The adjustment he and others make from clay one week to grass the next is amazing and illustrates their true talents. His first round he still won 2 and 2. As always the top 3 are/will be favored, being they are also the most consistent. However on grass, one needs to take into consideration of big servers, volleyers and so forth. Those like Roddick, Ancic, Blake, Gasquet, Karlovic, Kolschreiber, Soderling, could all make some noise though. I do however like Nadal's chances and should go deep.

  8. Looking back at the phenomenal run at Roland Garros Nadal is on top form. but  Federer is unpredictable. he is only out of form. he is not at his best as he used to be in his earlier days. Though it gives the psychological edge to oppenent players such as Nadal and Djokovic. still we cant rules out the Possibilty of Federer's chance. but i think this time Nadal can make it.lets wait and see

  9. I definitely think he has improved on grass and he has a very realistic chance of winning it and i hope he does.

  10. But we are talking about beating Roger Federer, he holds the record for most consecutive wins, he's won it since '03. He holds the record for the most consecutive weeks at No. 1, 228 (I think). He is arguably the best grass court player ever, definately in the top 2.

However Nadal has had a good run up to these Championships, slaughtering Federer in the French Open and if there was anyone who could beat him in Wimbledon it would have to be Nadal.

But I'm a tennis coach and I've seen him play in the final of Wimbledon and I must say I've never seen anyone else play like that, his cross court forehands are tecnically perfect, plus people have said we haven't seen him at his best in the past few years! But if he plays at his best then he will be unstoppable this year!

  11. oh YES. he does and i hope he will!

  12. Absolutely he has a chance. Clearly he and Roger would be the favourites to win, with Djokovic next. I don't rate Roddick anymore as a threat.

The win at RG will mean little coming into Wimbledon. Different game altogether. Rafa has become a more accomplished grass court player and that has shown with his 2006 and 2007 Runner Up results at Wimbledon.

Perhaps the most open Wimbledon tournament in six years, however don't count your chickens just yet on Roger.

  13. Like everyone else, he has a chance too.  He reached the last two finals losing to Federer twice so he must be doing something right.  It still is not his favorite surface and there's a lot of hard hitting guys that can knock him out.  As long as he stays healthy, there's no reason why he cannot win it.

  14. Rafa, like everybody else, has a chance to win Wimbledon this year. Remember when Goran won Wimbledon? He was just given a wild card.

Rafa won Artois lately beating some good players, including Novak on his way to the title. Yes, Federer also won in Halle but there was not much resistance in the draw there.

    I go with Rafa...(smile)

  15. he has a chance

  16. Sure he does.  It must depends the draw and his performance.  If Djokovic is in his half of the draw, he might have to work hard to beat him.  If he can improve or maintain his last year performance, he stand a pretty good chance of winning it.  He is really one of the most underrated player in Wimbledon.

  17. I'll use history to answer this question: he made it to the finals last year and took Federer to 5 sets.....

Yes, he has one h**l of a chance to win this year....his confidence (in my opinion) went through the roof just to make it to the finals...but then to challenge Federer on his turf like that....hmmmmm....

The kid's got alot of fire in his belly that's for sure....

  18. he has a .000000001% chance of winning....i wish

yeah he cud possibly win, but i am sure federer is gonna work hard not to let him win,

if i were fed im sure i wudnt do too many tournaments but more practice.....but he shud play some tournaments to stay in his game, which hasnt been much lately but oh well
