  1. Are you talking about resetting your BIOS to factory defaults?

    If you reboot your PC with OS CD/DVD it will ask you to install the OS. Unless you are talking about Linux which can be booted without installing it. If you use Windows, the answer is NO. Except you have a restore point to go back.


  2. Some nomenclature first:  booting or re-booting a computer is just turning it on when the power is off. Setting it back to factory default is know variously as "reformatting," or "recovering" it, at least in the PC world.  ("Recovering" is a horrible misnomer, since it actually loses everything that's on the hard disk.)

    Which leads to the answer to what I think you mean, yes, everything added is gone.
