Um ok so I have wavy hair which when tied, it forms like a in-ward curl below. Which is why im thinking of rebonding, but im worried that my hair will be damaged and frizz up after a while. What do you think of alternatives or rebonding is the best?

  1. from what i've seen, rebonding looks nice only for the first few days.

the shine on rebonded hair never quite looks natural, like the shine on naturally straight hair.

the stick-straight quality also looks unnatural. after a few weeks, when the dryness and frizzing occur, this extreme straightness can make it look like you stuck your finger in an electrical outlet.

when the new growth begins to show, you'll have a noticeable bump of curly or wavy hair, followed immediately with dry, stick-straight, processed hair. kind of like a question mark.

the process of rebonding breaks down the natural bonds of your hair shaft and repositions them into a straight form. this harsh treatment leads to weakened, dry hair.

if you do decide to rebond, keep in mind that much upkeep is required to keep it looking nice. deep conditioning treatments to battle dryness. rebonding of new growth at the scalp every few months. not to mention your limited options with other treatments: you won't be able to color your hair because it will become over-processed. heat stylers will need to be used with care to avoid additional damage to delicate hair.

embrace your natural, healthy hair. or, if you must have it straight, use a straightening iron occasionally.

  2. I honestly think it depends on the hairdresser.

I know people who've had great results with no frizz and those who unfortunately start to frizz after a few washes.

My advice is to search your area for good hairdressers...or get recommendations from people. Maybe the hairdressing shop has a website and a forum with people to give opinions.

However to simply answer your question(from experience) I think mostly rebonding should be successful. :)

  3. yes i think cause when you do it alot yourhair can not change color
