It depends what kind of recycling for example, collecting waste and garbage and burning/incinerating it then releasing this fumes causes depletion of the ozone layer which results to global warming

because then we dont have to keep using oil to make more plastic and it makes our planet very trashy

i guess yes... recyling reduces irresponsible waste disposal.. e.g. burning rubber/plastic emits some hamful substances that damages the ozone layer.. isnt it that the ozone layer helps in protecting us from the harmful rays of the sun? so, instead of burning, why not recycle?

No,its just better to have a cleaner planet than a dirtier one.Some will say it helps the environment but not all recycling does.
