  1. the name is from Germany

from the method used in Hamburg

brought back by the military from the WW 1&2

but you cannot be sure it is Kosher..

since only the front half of the steer is Kosher and burger is the methode to use all meat like a day old..

That is why it is so cheep..

tell you uncle he is sperading lies..

  2. I would suggest caution in buying  Burgers at various  resturants or stands, One doesnt know , But at the grocery It should be as advertised  meaning any ground pork is  labled  as such,   One  product  is found with  a "MIX"  is a meatloaf Package which may be   GROUND  beef, Pork and Lamb or  Chicken or turkey  so There are ground meat packages that have pork in them, BUT  typically BEEF is in a seperate  section, Pork is seperated  as is Poultry for this reason...  usually the meatloaf mix is NEAR the ground  beef  if in doubt READ  the label... IN  Most chain markets These Mixes  can either be store  Made  Or processed and packaged  away... MY Father was a Meat department  Manager  for 37  years for a chain store and  he always stated  that PORK is not processed  in the same plant or area as beef is with his chain.. for reasons of purity... If YOu see  that your store Packages its own ground pork Then  I would  suggest finding another shop,,, or potentially risk  "contact" with the pork.. (these days who Knows  how things are done everywhere)

  3. regular hamburger only has beef in it.

  4. Hamburger is ground beef, unless it states otherwise on the package.

  5. Ground beef (i.e. hamburger meat) does not have pork; it's entirely beef.  Most countries would require a store to list if the meat was composed of a beef/pork mixture.

If you were to buy something like meatloaf (don't ask) then it would most likely have beef and pork as a mixture.

As for hot dogs (frankfurters), unless labeled as "pure beef" or "all beef" they will have a mixture of pork, beef, and poultry.

Hebrew National makes all beef hot dogs and are kosher (that is, prepared according to jewish law- my apologies but I would not be able to explain if they are halal).

Read the label to verify, but at almost all supermarkets and big box grocery stores hamburger meat does NOT have pork in it.  Not sure?  Ask someone.

  6. No, at least not at chain places. Many places even advertise their hamburgers as 100% beef, no fillers, no additives.

Be careful when you eat at smaller restaurants or when you order special doctored up hamburgers from fancier places- those can have pork.

If you are just buying ground meat to make hamburgers, ground chuck is just what it says it is- ground chuck. It's 100% beef chuck. Same for ground sirloin, or any beef part.

  7. eh? i thought muslims dont eat pig at all? ham is from a pig so do muslims eat ham but not pork? sorry i dont know much about religains but em i dunno what hamburgers are made of. yeah...

  8. I'm jewish so I have to look out for things with pork. And "normal hamburgers" is way to big a feild to generalize. Look on the package and see if it contains pork or not. (most are beef)

    -Vote me best answer =)

  9. Regular Hamburger contains only BEEF.  But you CAN buy mixed... with both pork and beef.

  10. nope

  11. No hamburger (ground beef) can contain pork or any other meat, unless properly labeled...as meatloaf or meatball mix.

  12. The word "hamburger" has at least two meaning.  Hamburger- the sandwich and Hamburger-ground beef. I cannot determine what you are referring to in your question. So here is the answer to both. Hamburger that is sold in the supermarkets and labeled "ground beef" is beef with no pork. I have read that "meat loaf  mix" which is sold in some markets looks like ground beef but has pork in it.  tip: read the label carefully.

Hamburger the sandwich that is sold restaurants could have pork in it. It is not a regular ingrediant but it can happen. It is believed that pork adds flavor to  the beef. The same goes for meat loaf. It looks like "hamburger"  but sometimes pork is added. You wll have to ask before you order it.

  13. There are some hamburger mixes that theymake for meatloaf that are beef and pork mixed together, but it clearly states on the label if it is or not. Regular hamburger despite the name hamburger, is 100% beef. It says so on the label, but it is not good to eat it if you are a Muslim as it was not prepared in a halal way. I am not a meat eater, but I am Muslim and I know that hamburger in the store is not prepared in a halal way, though sometimes it can not be avoided. Good luck and I hope that this helps you.

  14. i don't think it does. i'm muslim to but i eat hamburgers. if it had pork i wouldn't be allowed to eat it.

  15. No it doesn't. A regular hamburger is made of beef only.

  16. They are called Hamburgers because they supposedly originated in Hamburg, Germany, not because there is ham or pork in them. Hamburgers are made with ground beef.

  17. Hamburgers are made usually with just beef, but to let you know it is the parts either too tough to make or the scraps from fabrication of the animal. That being said there are some burgers that have a variety of meat in them but the supplier must list them somewhere on the lable. My suggestion to you is to make it yourself that way you know exactly what goes in your food. But normal hamburgers are all beef paties. So when in doubt just ask and by law the place has to tell you all main ingredients or give you info for alergetic reasons. I hope this helps.
