Does rice milk rot as fast as normal milk?

I accidentally left out my jug of rice milk the other day for at least 5 hours. I was in a rush and I forgot to put it back in the fridge. When I got home I noticed that it was on the counter and it wasn't cold at all. I smell checked it and it smelled a bit unusual, but nothing too horrible, so I put it back in the fridge. Today I took it out and smell checked, and now it smells fine, almost no scent to it.

I was wondering if it's okay to leave rice milk out for that long, and for it to be okay. I mean, if the expiration date lasts about a month when I buy it, then maybe it's okay being out for a few hours.

Don't ask why I just won't taste test it either, or buy a new jug of milk. It's a whole new container that I just bought, and it's more expensive than milk, also I would like to find out my possibilities before having to swallow a nasty gulp of rotten rice milk!

  1. rice milk rots much more slowly than normal milk.

  2. I'm not sure about rice milk, but soy milk last MUCH longer than cow's milk. That leads me to believe that rice milk will last longer also.
