Does riding a pit bike on sand break it and sand get into the engine?

ive been wondering if i could ride my dirt bike on sand if u could answer this plz do

You can...Just make sure your air filter is oiled and change it after you ride...Sand will wear out your chain and sprockets quicker...But it could be alot of fun....Go for it..

One of the main tracks that my boys have to race at is very much like sand and it does wear bikes out very quickly.  It gets in everywhere and brake pads wear down a lot quicker than on other surfaces.  You will wear though a lot more things like the other answerer has stated, but I guess  it is up to you if you want to ride it in sand.
