  1. no and you should know that punching the bag like that is the wrong way to do it. If you want to learn to box go to a boxing gym and stop waisting your time trying to train yourself

  2. I would say the same amount of power, There is a difference though, A hook would be a big hit concentrated in a small area where as a slap would be the same power but spread over a larger area  being less effective.

    It's illegal in boxing anyway.

  3. No. It just means you are not punching correctly.

A closed fist is the most stable position for a striking hand.

Slaps may move the bag or a person as much but they 'give' with the blow, in other words soften the impact. A closed fist stays a lot more solid and imparts more of the shock to the target.

Also people tend to subconciously hit less hard for that reason- the hand is a lot more vulnerable to being broken or twisted at bad angles.

Lastly it is easier to block, being a bigger wider object than a fist.

  4. No,

Thats why Joe C doesn't have an amazing knock-out record.

    Thanks
