Question:

Does ritalin (sp?) help at all with anxiety too?

I had success with lexapro but sometimes I find that I can barely make it through the day out of total boredom and lack of focus.

I took a test for ADD and I have it. I also have anxiety issues.

But most of the time I am happy and enjoying life.

  1. Glad you are enjoying life most of the time.  I strongly suggest that you ask your pharmacist for information on the side-effects of the psychotropic drugs you are taking.  Do you really need them?  How can you learn to cope with your "boredom" and "lack of focus" if you are in a drugged state? Isn't the "lack of focus" problem caused by the drug you've been taking?

  2. The test you did for ritalin, was it a blood test, brain scan, or any other type of chemical test? Search side effects for each drug before deciding if any drug is appropriate. You should also check out EnCognitive.com too for factual information on mood drugs and alternatives.

  3. It may help. People with ADD could have anxiety because of the ADD itself. Ritalin allows patients to stay focused and less anxious. If the anxiety is severe, Lexapro will also be of value.
