Does rock band for wii support 2 player co-op???

i want to know. here's the story.

i play guitar hero on expert,but all of my friends pretty much are awful at it. so i thought why not get rock band so they can play drums (they say they are crazy good on drums.) so i think i might just get the guitar and drums. (because the whole set is a little pricey...) but i have to ask this:will rock band (for wii) support only a main guitar and drum co-op band???
