Does rubbing alcohol affect plant life?

where can i find research on this topic. i'm in 8th grade and this topic is part of a research project that i have to do for school. I currently have a plant that I've rubbed alcohol on it's leaves. some of the leaves are turning white but nothing else seems to be happening. the plant still seems to be thriving. should i pur some alcohol into the soil?

  4. Rubbing alcohol is isopropyl alcohol. It is poisonous. It is used to kill germs. Yes it will harm plant life. Do not drink.
