Does running a bridged amp cutback on the subs power?

lets say i have 2, 400w subs being run from a bridged 400w amp, now will those subs be running at full power? or just half?

  1. you would need to get a 800watt amp to maxs them out  


  2. You are talking about wiring them in parallel. Bridging is when you run one sub off of 2 channels. But the other posters are correct.

  3. If your subs are 400w each and the amp is 400w bridged then you'll be giving your subs half their RMS

  4. The "bridged" part doesn't really have anything to do with it, but whenever you have two identical subs connected to a single amplifier channel, the amp's output will be split evenly between the two subs.  This is true whether the subs are wired in parallel or series.  If the amp is producing 400 watts of power, each sub is getting 200 watts.
