  2. Yes.  I am a Ballroom dancer and I power-walk, run, and do wind-sprints to increase my endurance and agility.  I also find that when I am physically active my brain works better too.

Not a good idea to run every day.  Muscles need 2 days to recover.  Run every-other day, and lift weights on the alternate days.

  3. Yes.  Best answer?  ;)  Just kidding.  Running is one way to do it of course.  There are ways to specifically target quickness, speed, and endurance as well.  What I mean is you can do things that isolate just being quick and isolate just increasing speed.  Sprinting is the best way to increase just speed.  Long distance running is the best way to increase just endurance.  But running in general will increase all three as a whole.  Play a lot of basketball.  Even by yourself.  Playing the sport for practice that you play for real is the best way to prepare for that sport.
