Well, I want to buy this brand new motorcycle from a dealership, its a 2005 model so it has been sitting there, never used for 3 years. Is there any chance that rust may form in any internal components that can't be seen from the outside after that time?

  1. Yes metal usually rusts unless it aluminum

  2. Take the plugs out & spray a little WD 40 in the cylinders.

  3. Most likely it was parked inside the building and if on the showroom floor where it was heated and air conditioned, then it's highly unlikely any condensation formed.  If in the heated shop, still no problem.  If outside in an enclosed or insulated shed, probably not.  If stored outside exposed to weather or in an open or uninsulated shed, then it's very possible.

  4. Yes ,and probably not real important if it were kept indoors.Rust spots sometimes form on the cylinders.I f it turns over with the electric starter it is not an issue.
