  1. NO WAY!!!  Draino is the best

  2. No Salt is hygroscopic and actually absorbs moisture. so, if you use too much it will clog rock solid.

  3. I can't think of any reason why it would. Try a chemical pipe unclogger, like Drain-O.

  4. No but Baking Soda does.

  5. no, a snake does

  6. Not sure. Buy Evenflow at a real plumbing store. $10  good stuff, follow the directions / warnings close. good luck Drano works like Cool Aid next to this stuff.

  7. no it wont. dont use drain-o either, its a caustic acid that can and likely will damage your drain pipes. not to mention it smells like poo., for a long time too.

use a rotary cable, or call the pros that can use them.

ive been doing this sort of work for a lot of years. if you cant get it open using a hand turnable drain cable or a plunger, call someone who can use a rotary cable maching (or snake as some people insist upon calling them). Its safer for your pipes and cheaper than paying a plumber to replace all your drain pipes because acid damaged them. and yes, i know that it says "safe for pipes" right onthe front of the bottle, but it just isnt true in every case. ive replaced a lot of pipes that were damaged by chemical drain openers in dozens of different homes and businesses.

and no.. baking soda does not clear a clog. when will these goofy wives tales ever be put to rest?

  8. No
