However an Halal meat[animal meat] , which your unsure/unknown how it was been slaughtered would Halal , By saying Bismilah before eating it.

Saheeh Al-Bukhari: "It is related by Aisha (raa) that a group of people said to the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) 'Some people came to us with some meat about which we didn't know whether the name of Allah was mentioned over or not' and he replied (saaws) Sammoo [Say the name of Allah] over it yourselves and then eat. She [Aisha - raa] said that these people had just recently been from the Kuffaar [i.e. just became Muslim and the question was not asked as to the method of slaughter].

It is not permissible to eat the animals slaughtered by the disbelievers except for the People of the Book, from the Jews and the Christians.

"Today the good things have been made lawful for you, and the food (slaughtered meat) of those who have been given the Book (i.e. Jews and Christians) is lawful for you, and your food (slaughtered meat) is lawful for them." [Al-Maa'idah (5):5]

  3. asalam alakom and welcome to Islam. According to what I have read, it is ok to eat non-halal meat if you are living in a non muslim country, before you eat it you must say "Bismillah ir Rahman arRaheem though. It is a controversial issue among the scholars but the majority of scholars from the 4 major schools agree on this and they also say that first u must have tried to find a halal store but if you could not find then it is ok. And as long as it is meat from a Christian or a Jew (Jews slaughter their animals very similar to Muslims), but not from non-monotheistic religions or atheist. They also state that you should familiarize yourself with the slaughter method. Here is a clear verse from the Holy Qur'an which scholars base their answer on: "Today, I have permitted for you all good things, and the food of the People of the Book is permissible for you, and your food is permissible for them." (Al-Ma’idah: 5) Allahu Alaam (Allah knows best). Here is some advice, Islam is simple, we tend to make it harder then what it is and it is our intentions that matter. So as long as you have good intentions in this issue (and all things) it will be counted towards us in the end. Yallah salam alakom

  4. No way! If I said Abra Cadabra over some dust will it turn into a mars bar?

  5. Isn't that Ed from Fullmetal Alchemist? I like that anime. Why don't you use alchemy to turn non-halal food into halla food? LOL

  6. no

  7. No it does not make your food HALAL.  Let us suppose if it really makes your food HALAL then there should be no concept of Halal or Haram. So there is no point to say Bismillah make food Halal.Bismillah is "In the name of Allah", which is actually an idiom, an expression that really doesn't give you any permission.

  8. No sis.

haram is haram whether you say bismillah or anything else.

But it is neccesery 4 you to say bismillah before you eat a halal food, not the haram one.

  9. if it is a necessity to eat it, and there are no other choices, then yes..

  10. No. Not at all.

  11. No, the food doesnt become halal by saying bismillah

  12. No.saying bismilah before eating non-halal food  does not make  it permissable to eat..

Except I think , when the situation arises that when no food on earth is left to eat for survival but non halal food..

    Which Inshallah shall never happen..

  13. on the food you are not sure you say bismillah.but you should say bismillah on all food!~

  14. Thats a misconception of many. Like people eat burgers at Mc Donalds and they say Bismillah saying that this will make it halal. There is nothing like this in Islam.

Therefore, saying Bismillah before eating non-hilal food doesn't make it halal.

    Rest Allah knows the best~!

  15. No.........but sadly some Muslims do it on daily basis.

  16. It does not! The meal still remains haraam[not -permissable]!

  17. Salam for you. We could not say bismillah for eating a non halal food for making it permissable to eat, except there is no other  halal foods .This situation is impossible in the modern society So the haram food such as pig meat is always not allowed to be eaten by muslims with or without saying bismillah.

  18. No haram food are haram for it. There is no excuse for it that if you slaughter that animal according to Islam so it will become halal or you say bismillah before it so it becomes halal. Haram food is haram.
