Does setting fan speeds of the air conditioner affects car's fuel economy?

  2. ive seen this question before and the answer is yes anything you can turn on in a car will use more fuel open windows too

  3. Theoretically, any accessories that force the engine to work harder, in this case via the alternator, will have a negative affect on fuel consumption.  However, the increase will probably be imperceptible.

  4. nope as nothing to do with it.. its electrical... you talking about whats better on gas windows up and air off is best with mileage but its hot window down and air off is about the same with air on... if  fan is on high or low makes no differents

  5. It would take such a small amount of  extra energy to run the fan at a higher speed, that it would be almost impossible to measure any fuel loss. You would have more fuel loss heading into the wind, or idling at a light than any loss from running your fan at a higher speed. The radio takes more power to run than the fan, on most cars.
