Question:

Does shaving up make your beard not thick?

I'm 18 and I've been shaving my face for 3-4 years. I have shaved up everywhere. A friend told me that I should only shave my neck up, and the rest down, since shaving up on the face causes the hair to not grow as thick and be very smooth. Any thoughts about this?
