Does she not get into trouble because she's his stepdaughter?

Please read all of this; it's not TOO terribly long.

I go to a very prestigious private high school, and the Headmaster has had a few daughters and step daughters that all attend or have attended the school in the past.

In particular, one of his stepdaughters, the one who is the most unintelligent and rebellious of them all (let's call her Courtney), has been of interest to me. I'm a freshman, and she is a junior. She is in my Spanish class and I have found that she does not follow the instructions from the teacher (who is usually quite harsh about those things) when she is asked to put away her computer, turn in homework, or to do class work.

He always defends her in class discussions when someone jokingly says something mean to her.

So my question is: Does Courtney not get into trouble because her step-dad is the school's Headmaster and the teacher's don't want any trouble? Does she not receive proper punishment because her father is afraid of being reprimanded by her birth mother?

I don't know why Courtney doesn't get in trouble for misbehaving or not listening.  While it might seem odd to you (and it is), don't sweat it... just go about your business and do your best....

Sounds about right. Of course with her being the step daughter he may have met her or been around her at barbeques or what not. This really isn't something that you can change however.

Life isn't fair and people play favorites. But I would just try to get through the class without spending too much time getting distracted by this.

She should be held accountable just like all the other students that attend.  If you believe her father has problems with her mother and is afraid of discipline for this child because of this, that is very sad, this young lady is headed down a bad path and I believe unless she faces consequences for what she does now she will be very lost later and it will be out of her parents hands.

Well , i go to a not so prestigious high school , and the headmaster's kid is in my sister's class . She is the evil freak from h**l .. no kidding there .. she go againsts all the rules and makes life h**l for everyone ... teachers all ignore her in fear of gettin the sack . So , yea it hink thats possible

You're probably right - she's getting special treatment b/c her step-dad is headmaster. The teacher probably doesn't even realize he's doing it.

yeah that is probably why she does not get in trouble. its sad to say, but for the rest of her life she's probably going to have everything handed to her... but we can cross our fingers :)
