Not since the development of 18/8 stainless steel. That is used almost exclusively now. The old "silver" cutlery was in fact brass or bronze ElectroPlated with Nickel Silver. That's what the  EPNS stamp on it indicated. Stainless steel is so cheap by comparison, I don;t think you'll find any company making EPNS now.
