Does sitting in front of a computer alot damage your eye sight ?

i sit in front of a new LCD screen (its not a old model screen)

anyways,

is it bad for my eyes ?

i dont see very close,

im only 18

(i came to this world nov.12.1989)

are you younger than me or older? (curious to know, that way i know if the answere is coming from someone older or younger than me)

  1. It doesn't "damage" your eyes in a traditional sense, however there is a condition called "computer vision syndrome".  This includes symptoms such as eye strain, dryness, blurred vision, headaches, loss of focus, etc.  Some things our clinic suggests for CVS is a glare screen for your monitor, adjusting your distance between the monitor and your eyes, rewetting drops, and most importantly - computer glasses.  The best advise I can give is to say visit your Optometrist for a comprehensive exam and more info about your eyes and the computer!  Good luck!
