Does sitting in the sun really make eyes a lighter color?

People told me if you sit in the sun a lot it makes your eye color look lighter, like if you have brown eyes it changes to hazel, is that true?? thanks.

i think it will damage your eyes

no i have blue/green/gray eyes and i'm always in the sun(you can see it  in my tan) and they have stayed the same but you get highlights if you do

no it will make them darker if anything
