1. No way.. oh wait... actually yes it does because i dont usually buy books that are small, unless its in a series or something

:) largest book was around 900 pages

    great book :D

  2. The size is not really relevant to the quality of the book. That said, surely there are too brief short books and far too verbose long ones. It is all about content and nothing to do with girth.

That being said, the longest book (actually 18 books, but all a part of the same broader story) is William Faulkner's chronicles of Yoknapatawpha county's denizens. Beginning with Flags in the Dust and ending with The Reivers, and including numerous short stories to boot, the full length of this story is somewhere around 7500 pages.

  3. No, not really. I tend to choose regular-sized books in general (approx 250-300 pps), but I read a lot of smaller books for quicker reads and longer books for heavy epics. It doesn't intimidate me, but I'm more likely to buy a longer book vs a shorter book because I don't like spending $20 on something that's less than a hundred pages long.

The longest book that I've read is The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand, and, even though it's a rather dense book, I read it in about a week.

  4. Size matters if you want enjoyment out of the book!

  5. I have read the Lord of the Rings trilogy, which was originally to be published as one volume. Sometimes, if I am looking for a fast-paced read, longer novels don't always offer that; however, if I am no rush, I don't mind a good long book.

  6. yes, it does.. especially for the task the lecturers gave me.. the thicker the books, the lazier i am to do it, i mean to read it.

  7. No, the size doesn't affect my choice in books. My choices are usually based on summaries. However, seeing a really long book instantly makes me interested.

The longest book I've ever read is Les Miserables by Victor Hugo. 1453 pages.

    ♥M♥

  8. The longest novel I've read is David Foster Wallace's Infinite Jest, a 1079 page large trade paperback. The second largest is the unabridged version of The Stand.

Edit: Actually Atlas Shrugged is the second largest.

  9. Yes actually I prefer thicker novels because I read fast.

  10. It all depends on what book you are reading. Even if it is a book by an author you like and the book has good reviews, it does not matter to me if it is long.

  11. nope
