I was told "kral", slavic for king actually, comes from Carolus Magnus, the model for Chrisitian kings. Yet king and roi come from other sources. Can you set me straight?

  1. All my sources say that the Slavic root krl (kral, korol, etc) does indeed derive from Karl, the given name of Charlemagne.

The only properly slavic noble titles I've been able to pinpoint with certitude were Knyaz (Grand Prince) and Boyar (hereditary landholding noble), all others seem derived from other languages.
