Yesterday i took an aid sleeping pill. After a while, i found i can not read thing once, i have to re-read it by repeating every word. Meanwhile, i had to visualiz the word so i can understand it! I know it does not make sense, but usually when i take an aid sleeping pill, the next day i suffer from slow memory! Any idea?

Note: i'm on medication - i take proxateine.

Please give advice..

  1. I hope not I take sleep meds too

  2. the pills make you slow in the head, belive me i know from experiance,

  3. What kind of sleeping aid? If it's one of the z-drugs (zolpidem=Ambien, zopiclone=Lunesta), then it's possible. For both of these unfortunately very popular drugs there have been reports of short term memory loss. If you are just taking antihistamines such as diphenhydramine (Benedryl), I don't think there should be any memory problems. You just might feel drowsy.
