  1. Those are two different things.

    Social Mobility= the ability to climb up and down the socio- economic ladder and change from one class to another.

    Social Status= the status an individual posses as a result of their position on the socio-economic ladder.

    America is known for having great social mobility because of capitalism which rewards an individual based on merit, that is why alot of people move there. Social Status varies based on occupation, income, power, influence, and education.

    It is in high school. If a "popular" kid is doing nothing he/she would be texting.

    If a skid is doing nothing he/she would just be standing there.
