  1. First of all you did work for social security since it was taken out of a pay check in some cases for 50 years. Also as of 2009 Social security is not counted as income. Even when there was a place for it on the Fafsa it was not figured for efc. Money given to you would be something like aid to dependent children, so called free money. You can also check with your financial aid office at the college you are applying to and they will clarify any issues with the Fafsa
