Obviously we aren't talking about eating it correct? ... The Softlips Vanilla is a vaseline based lip balm with a hint of vanilla- no it's not sweet....... The only sweet lip balms you'll find are by Bonne Belle. Sold in Walmart.

If you first l**k your lips you will find a hint of vanilla taste. It does smell like vanilla though. But other than that no, it doesn't have a real flavour like other lip items that can taste like bubblegum - and vanilla. since there it is virtually flavourless it isn't sweet at all.

But it is spf 20, has medical ingredients and tingles your lips a bit. So if you want something with flavour go with lipglosses. They tend to carry flavour. Lip balm is ment to be a medicine for your lips and if it has a strong flavour (like vanilla) it most likely will not do much for your lips (if they are severely dry).
