  1. Well the sun is what's responsible for warming the planet, so that means solar energy causes global warming.


  2. Solar energy has no effect on global warming. The sunshine arrives on Earth anyway. It doesn't matter if it warms up blacktop or a photovoltaic panel.

  3. Solar energy is just a way to reduce our dependency on "non-renewable" energy sources. You could claim that you are helping the environment by cutting down your use of more toxic forms of energy such as oil and coal.

  4. All of our sources of energy has impacts on the environment.

    Some less than others. (e.g. Solar cells and silicon mining compared to Coal and lung cancer rates)
