Does someone have suggestions on how to download videos from a mini DVD made by my camcorder onto my computer?

I've already finalized it. I also have downloaded windows movie maker. But somehow, I can' t get the videos from the mini DVD to my computer. I can play them directly from the mini DVD all day long. Just can't download it to edit it/email it/burn to regular CD. This is so frustrating, I've been trying for a solid 3 hours now. Help!

  1. Mini DVD camcorders aren't designed to export into the computer for editing. They are a simple way to shoot footage and then view it. In order to edit the footage, you'll need to rip the data on the disc, convert it into a usable format, and then import it into Movie Maker. Your quality is going to decrease dramatically. To get you started, download a free program called MPEG Streamclip. It works very well...you just drag your content into the main window and then select your desired conversion format. But like I said, your quality is not going to be very good.

  2. Make sure you finalize the disc, otherwise it won't work on a computer.  It should be in the menu section.

    However, once you finalize the disc, you can't add any more content to that one mini-DVD.

  3. If you have a mini dvd camcorder….

    You will have to finalize your dvd in the camera and then put the dvd in your computer 's DVD burner (top loading only) and then you will have to convert the files (i downloaded handbrake file converter free) and import them into your editing program. Use the HELP feature in your editing program to learn about editing. Once you are ready to burn, your project will be burned to a different DVD and you can file the original away.

  4. You can copy the dvd to your PC using DVDDecrypter.  You can't simply copy them to another DVD because video DVDs use a different disk format.  You can use Ashampoo-Burning-Studio-Free though.  If you want to edit and/or email your videos you'll need to convert them first (I'm assuming you plan to use Windows Movie Maker) - you can do that with Super.

  5. Since you neglected to tell us the make & model of your camcorder or the make & model &  OS of your PC you don't have many options!! Consult your manual!! There is a whole section devoted to your answer!! If you don't have one, you should be able to download one from the manufacturers support site.

  6. wmmaker does not support dvd  .vob or .vro files.

    - download Prism or Kate's video converter (free)

    - open the video converter

    - insert finalized dvd disk to pc drive

    - add your .vob files from dvd folder Video_TS

    - select .avi (if your have enough hddisk space) or .wmv (highest resolution) & save to pc folder

    - import converted video file to wmmaker

    for starters, free Windows Movie Maker* (XP-wmm2 & Vista-wmm6) provides simple & easy way to learn the ropes < click help for details>. Upgrade to intermediate video editing app accdg. to need & skill level

    http://video-editing-software-review.top...

    video editing process- XP/wmm2

          >>> open wmm- start/all programs/wmm->TASK pane

    1. Capture/Import converted video files

    2. Edit- drag/drop video files->timeline & enhance w/effects, transition, music & titles

    3. Finish (render)- save Movie file, also save Project* ** file

    4. Share-burn to CD (if DvD, thru a DvD authoring app like DvD Flick, Nero, etc.)

    For Vista/wmm6, t’is similar: Import/ Edit/ Publish/ WindowsDVD or Nero for authoring
