  1. To have one legally, yes, you have to be a US citizen.  Social security numbers are now issued at the birth of the child.  Health status has absolutely nothing to do with obtaining a number.

  2. ask social security

  3. duh

  4. Yes you do.

  5. You do need to be a citizen of the US. Other than that, I'm not sure.

  6. Social security is payed to any legal citizen or citizen who has payed taxes into the system! If a child( U.S. citizen) is born with a disability the receive S.S.I.on the spot for their care. A person with an injury usually needs to apply and fit the criteria!!!

  7. 65 or 67 i belive and no, some aliens are eligible for social security like permanent resident immigrants..

however the vast majority are US citizens also I dont know your age but I know im not getting a penny out of that, not that i care anyways

  8. there is no age to get your card, we got one for our daughter as soon as she was born, as far as being an US citizen? no, permanent residents can one as well.

here is the link of SS office :

  9. Yep. The sad thing is, non-immigrants like me who just work here temporarily have social security dinged from our paychecks every month. And yet we never actually qualify for the benefits. And on top of that people have the nerve to constantly rant on here about how we (non-immigrants) do not pay taxes. Guess what guys, we DO pay taxes, and also have to pay for c**p like Social Security that we will never benefit from, to keep your grandmothers healthy. So who do you think is getting the sh*t end of the stick here? :)
