Does someone know some good places for a wedding reception in Kalamazoo?

I'm getting married next year and I want the reception to be in Kalamazoo, but my family would like to have alcohol. We don't want it catered, my family would like to prepare the food themselves, so we also need a place that will let us bring our own food and drinks... I'm having a hard time finding a place where I can bring my own food and have alcohol without paying for catering. Does anyone know where I could have my dream reception?

Hi.  You should write that this is MICHIGAN....but I do know that as I live in Michigan also.

Anyway, as you said, it's hard to find these types of places.  The only thing I can suggest is to look at places like VFW Halls, Elks Clubs, etc.  Those types of places are the only ones that I know of in Michigan that let you bring in your own food and alcohol.  The alcohol is the tricky part.  Because of the liquor laws here in Michigan, it's really hard to find places that let you bring in alcohol.

One more option would be city or county type halls....like a township hall.  But, I don't know if these types of halls (the ones I mentioned above or the township halls) fit into your "dream reception."
