Salvador was the first capital of Brazil.

It's a beautiful city. Different cultures, different people, different religions etc. It's really cool!

Recommended places to visit: Farol da Barra, Dique de Tororó, Itapuã, Pelourinho.

If you wanna visit another place in Bahia I recommend: Morro de São Paulo (Cairu), Porto Seguro, Chapada Diamantina, Recôncavo Baiano, ilha de Itaparica (it's an island that you can see in the other side of the Todos os Santos Bay). Ok?

I've lived there twice.  It's an awesome city!  Lots of culture, very nice people, beautiful beaches.  My favorite place near Salvador is a city called Morro de Sao Paulo.  It's a 4 hour boat ride from Salvador but it is total paradise!
