Does someone over the age of 18 still need to have their learners' permit for 6 months before they can drive?

  1. the very day a person turns 18 they are eligible to go take the license

    test. No permit lengh of time matters

  3. NO!. in CA at the age of 18 you just take the written test and than your behind the wheel test

  4. Depends on the state.

    In PA, I think you take the permit test and then you have to wait like a week to take the driving test.

  6. yes they do. Its called a "Learners" permit for a reason. Even being over 18 you need to learn how to drive and the six months is a learning period, at least in my State, i don't know about Washington though..
