  1. If anyone in the military gave that information they could be and should be locked up for a long time and then kicked out; personal information is just that personal and use of military records for anything besides military business is a huge No and the same is true of other government personnel records, it is called an invasion of privacy and the use of that information is protected under the law.

  2. I agree with Gunny - some of those records are covered by the Privacy Act of 1974, there are various regulations (military & federal) that spell out exactly what they can access and can't.

Different MI types have access to different information - but all fall under the same guidelines saying it's a no no for personal reasons for you/them to search / obtain that info.

But that info can be obtained online in many places if you know where to look and for a fee....

  3. LOL, no, MI is not like the FBI / CIA. There job is to gather intelligence on the battlefield.

For instance, when infantry guys, or MP's or whoever go out on a mission, upon return the guy in charge IE Platoon Leader or Squad leader is debriefed by the S2 (Military Inteligence guy) and that info is used for later missions. All the info is combined at the Battalion and up levels and combined for future knowledge on upcoming missions.

Military Intel Prophet platoons have some more capabilities, however thats classified.  but only used against the enemy combatents.

  4. you can find that stuff without being MI, all you have to do is know where to look, and who to talk to.
