Does sony make better tvs than samsung?

They are the same. Both are manufactured at the same factories and most of the parts are the same except Sonys have BRAVIA engines. Overall, Samsungs are better. I have a Samsung and would recommend Samsung because there have been some problems with the BRAVIA engine recently.

Personally I like Sony, but Samsung seems great aswell.

In a side by side comparison a Samsung will blow away a Sony every time.  The seven series blows away the equivalent XBR models, and as you step down in models this remains true.

That is a matter of personal preference and cost.

From what I've experienced the samsung is usually better quality for a sony of the same price.
