  1. The surgery can be dangerous. All surgeries have risks associated with them. Most pull through just fine, a few don't. Have your vet explain to you the benefits and risks associated with this procedure so you can make an educated decision as to what to do.

Here's some educational reading for you:

  2. the only thing I can think of is the vet could mess up the surgery and cause an infection

  3. No! But not spaying her can.

  4. NO.  The only way a dog can die from being spayed/neutered is by having a rare fatal allergic reaction to the anesthesia or by vomiting while unconscious (which is why they are not supposed to eat or drink anything a few hours before the procedure is done).

However, many dogs CAN and DO DIE when they are not spayed/neutered because: 1) they can't control the urge to reproduce (it's hormonal - not a choice on their part!) and will cross busy streets to find a mate, 2) get into fights with other intact dogs and receive fatal wounds, 3) are euthanized by shelters when they continually get pregnant from neighborhood males and the owners get tired of trying to find homes for the puppies (who get euthanized too), 4) are physically and mentally exhausted by being bred again and again for money-making purposes.

  5. no but if you dont spay her she can die of many dieses

i suggest you get her spayed but not until 6 months at the very minimum if you are wanting to get her spayed asap

i got my dog spayed at 10 months and he is healthy

  6. Spaying is better for the dog in the long run but any anesthetic procedure carries a risk of side effects (up to and including death).  As long as the proper pre-anesthetic protocols are followed your dog should make it through surgery just fine and be a happier healthier dog.

Not spaying her when she's young and healthy can cause a lot of problems in the long run.  She will be at a much higher risk for mammary cancer and pyometra.  Pyometra is an infection in the uterus that the only cure for is an emergency spay.

    Good luck with your decision.
