  1. Special K will be good in reducing calories overall, but as it's so low calorie, can leave you feeling really hungry.  Try kashi golean instead, try 1 cup of that with 1/2 cup milk, and 1/2 cup berries or a sliced banana for more nutrients, and more fibre to keep you full.

  2. No. Look at the high carb content in grams. They're selling more cereal by marketing it as a weight loss aid.

  3. It helps if you eat it in a 1200 - 1400 Calorie a day meal plan! When I'm dieting  I always use 1200 calorie plan it's a bit slow like 2lbs a week but it really works in the long run! You don't have to eat Special K in the plan but if you like it and the calories fit in your plan than that's good for you.

  4. There's nothing magical about Special K. The idea is to replace your drive thru breakfast with a low calorie breakfast cereal. You could do this with other brands that are low in calories, too. Yes, by taking in less calories and burning off more, you will lose weight. You could also do this with fat free yogurt or cottage cheese with fruit, too. Exercise and burn off more calories than you eat and the weight comes off.

    Not a dumb question =)

  5. If you like it and it's easy for you to follow this diet then go for it.

There is proof that this work - in a Loughborough University study they found that using the Special K diet, 75% of those taking part had a slimmer waist and hip measurement after 2 weeks.

So, seems like it works and this isn't surprising given the calorie deficit you'll be in.

  6. yes it does it doesn't have many calories and it tastes good too

  7. If you're on a 1,500 calories diet, that'll be like about 500 calories a meal (3 meals a day). Special K will work because you're taking about 110 calories a meal (if you measure exactly 1 cup of cereal a sitting with the right milk, etc). So if you eat it 2 times a day, you're taking about 220. That cuts out a lot of calories you would normally take, making it at least 720 calories a day... but it depends on your dinner and snacks too...

I tried it, but can't stand eating cereal 2 times a day, breakfast and lunch, everyday. I get tired and bored of eating the same thing over again so I look for other ways to lose the extra pounds. There's other cereals that has the same idea/plan. So I don't find special k to be that "special." But my sister did it, and she looked a bit skinnier... so yeah, if you can stick to the diet, you can lose some lbs.
