  1. what kind of question is this.

  2. yes but we don't the only way i can see it harming the environment is the electric we use to power the computer.

oh yes and how we dispose of the computer is important too.

  3. yes it would be better . it would also be better if ppl stopped making more roads ,factorys, and heaters  but thats never gonna happen . depends on how much time do u realy spend on the computer . but hey you can be one of those people to help the environment and still have fun on the computer

  4. So why are you there?

  5. why u on

  6. environment is more harmed by those tall chimneys throwing smoke into air and by truck mufflers than computers

  7. I us a program called CO2 Saver. It's made by Snap. It helps you cut down on CO2 emissions by configuring your computer to run on less energy. It even tells you how many pounds of CO2 you've saved. I believe I got it on download.com

  8. That depends on lots of factors. By spending time on the computer you are using electricity, you are using something that has been manufactured using finite materials and there are problems with disposal.

However you ask about spending time, so it is only use of electricity. Most people would not be picking up trash, planting trees nor 'restoring?' natural habitats if they were not on their computer. They would probably be going shopping or attending a football match. These activities may be much more harmful to the environment. All that fuel for transport, manufacturing the items to be purchased, the snack meals and drinks out, the litter left afterwards etc etc

Spending time on the computer can be beneficial to the environment, planting the wrong trees in the wrong place can do more harm than good. How do you 'restore natural habitats? You can not, it is not possible, you can replace them with something that looks a bit like them, but they can not be restored.

Many people spend time on computer doing things that also prevent more environmental damage, online banking, emailing instead of travelling to a postbox and back, shopping online, playing games online so no 'physical' game disc is needed to be produced and disposed of, socializing online etc etc.

  9. Well, you dont seem to be doing much by sitting on Yahoo!Answers and posting this now do you?

  10. Yes, because we spend time on the computer we are not out helping the enviorment. It's better off using the computer to save the enviorment (fund raisers...etc.)

  11. get a life

  12. depents on what kind of computer your useing

  13. It all depends if you spend all your time taking part in animal petitions on line or looking at games ,but i think we should be more green

  14. Spending time on the computer only harms the environment if it's you behind the screen. Why would someone unless it was you, post such trash on the web. I suggest you pick it out of here before it harms the environment. You must be a teacher!

  15. no,it  keeps you off the roads with your oil gas burning car

  16. if your on a lap top like me no

  17. Depends in what way you look at it. For example if your computer is burning-up a lot of electric because the computer is too powerful for your needs. Then yes, you spending time on that computer is harming the environment. So using excess electric through the use of you using your computer would harm the environment.
