Does sperm ned to be healthy?

Does a man's sperm have to be healthy in order for a woman to have a healthy pregnancy? We can get pregnant but the problem is my wife has had 2 miscarriages already and doctor ordered a work up.

I imagine both the egg and sperm that penetrate the egg need to be healthy.  I have read stories where men had not the best sperm and still impregnated their woman with a healthy pregnancy.  Nature is a mystery.

I'm sorry for the miscarriages.  You keep on trying.  It's good that you are both going for some basic testing too!

Maybe all she needs is some extra progesterone.

Yes, the sperm need to be healthy.  If they have motility problems or genetic problems, that could be causing the miscarriages.  I'm sorry to hear about that, I know how hard they are.  Getting tests is a really good idea to find out what is going on.  GL!  I hope you get positive results!
