  1. All it takes to burn some fat is a REAL bike and some rocky terrain.

Go for it, why turn the experience of biking into something it's not

  2. The treadmill burns more calories but it is bad for your joint and you can easily cause pain.  The bike is good.  Be sure you keep your heart in a fat burning zone.  Most of the exercise equipment has a chart on it to tell you what heart rate you need to be at.  Also at the gym they have a cycling class called Spin.  This is an awsome class the instructory usually keep it pumped up with music and other excitment and they tell you how to get the best workout on the bike.  You sit and stand and change the resistince.  I did this three times a week and watched what I ate all summer and lost 27 pounds.  I also have really good leg strenth.  I like the bike much better than the treadmill.

  3. IIII would guess tread.

  4. It depends.  If you can set the bike for tension, it could probably burn some calories.  Personally, I'd jog on the treadmill.  Running burns more calories for me than biking.

  5. treadmill.use arm weights.

Norditrack beats them both if you can find one.......

  6. I'm sure everyone is different and so is the intensity you use the bike and treadmill.

It is important to get your heart rate up to the range that is right for you and keep it there for at least 20 minutes.

If you are a beginner, you need to start slow. If you work out regularly, then you know what you are capable of.

You might want to mix it up a bit too, bike one day and treadmill the next.  Experts say that the body gets used to your routine and you don't loose weight as well if you keep doing the same thing over and over.

    Good luck!
