  1. i strained my eyes sometimes when i was younger and now i'm nearsighted. :[

  2. A little bit it depends on how log u are straining them for

  3. Well, the reason for myopia (nearsightness) is disputed. Most scientists believe that it is a genetic problem (they have pinpointed the PAX6 gene, look it up), but some believe it is both genetic and environmental, while others believe that it's purely environmental. Personally, I think it's all about genes, but straining your eyes isn't recommended.

  4. Acutally, it's think it's a hereditary problem and not something you can cause from doing too much close up work. You could make it occur faster if you do but you won't develop nearsightedness if you don't already have the tendency for it.

  5. i dont beleive straining your eyes is the cause of nearsightedness. do you wear glasses for near or distance? if not, its probobly why you are straining them.
