Does studying abroad effect the outcome of playing at sport in college if you are going to a division 1 school

I want to be a spanish teacher and i want to study abroad in a spanish speaking country but i am also a big lacrosse player and i have had offers for scholarships to divison 1 schools.

  2. It depends upon the year you go. Exchange students are very sought after by colleges and universities, so that's a plus. If you go during your junior year, you would still be back for your senior, when they pay lots more attention. Also, you may have the opportunity to join a club in your country of choice which would add to your athletic experience.

    In the long term, the exchange will prove more valuable -- the DI scholarship is great of course -- but, Lacrosse isn't a big pro sport -- and you'll have to earn that living!

    However, if you have doubts, have your coach contact a few recruiters on your behalf (if that's legal) and find out how they feel about it.
